Students showcase their work as part of YorRobots poster session

Eleven undergraduate students secured an internship sponsored by Phil Venables and showcased their work in a virtual poster session.

YorRobots is an institution-wide initiative bringing together researchers and practitioners with an interest in robotics and autonomous systems, and their applications.

During Summer 2021, eleven Undergraduate Students from various Departments were each successful in securing an internship sponsored by Phil Venables

They carried out a virtual zoom poster session on 1st December 2021 where they showcased their work and answered questions from the audience.

All students who took part received a certificate and congratulations to the following students who received a special mention from the judges:

Best Presentation - Isobel Standen
Best Poster - Daniel Marfiewicz-Dickinson
Best work focused on Social Sciences - Emily Wood
Best work focused on Engineering - William Burbidge

Professor Dimitris Kolovos and Dr Nicholas Matragkas have been awarded a £280K 3-year InnovateUK Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Rolls-Royce. The KTP will deliver a cloud-based, open, collaborative framework for developing highly-complex safety-critical Control and Monitoring Systems (CaMS) and transfer the knowledge required to use, maintain and develop this framework into industry.
