We have a well established and successful history of links with industry, and these links inform both our teaching and research to keep us relevant and up-to-date in such a dynamic field. As one of the leading departments of Computer Science in the UK, we are setting the agenda for some of the big challenges in the discipline.
Whatever your requirements, we can help. If you work for an engineering or IT based company, our teaching can help you and your people to update, refresh and extend your knowledge through our continuing professional development and postgraduate courses.
Our Industrial Advisory Board, which meets regularly, keeps us up to date with what’s happening in the sector, so that we can keep our courses relevant to your business.
We work with a range of organisations to provide year-long placements and summer internships for our undergraduate students. This allows our students to gain experience within a workplace and put what they have learnt into practice. It also allows you the opportunity to bring fresh talent into your organisation and assess students for potential graduate roles.
There are many benefits to taking on a placement student - find out more about our industrial placements scheme.
We can also place students with you on internships, a scheme that has been successful for other companies in York and the surrounding areas. Read our latest feature on three York companies who have taken York Computer Science students.
