Can a robot have an immune system?

Professor Jon Timmis gave his public lecture exploring immunity in the natural world and how this idea might translate to robotic systems, to allow them to work even when things go wrong. His lecture also included demonstrations of different types of robots - including swarm robotics and flying robots.

Watch the full lecture, and discover some of the problems getting these ideas to work in robotic systems.
