MSc in Natural Computation

The Department of Computer Science at York runs a one year taught Masters course in Natural Computation. This provides valuable background for further research into many of the areas of of interest to the NSC group. The Department offers a small number of studentships to suitably qualified Home and EU students. The studentships cover fees.

CASE studentship in Computational Biology, October 2012

Applications are invited for a 4-year BBSRC/CASE PhD studentship in Computational Biology of the Intestinal Tract, in partnership with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). The successful applicant will join the Department of Biology and the Department of Computer Science and will be under the supervision of Dr Marika Kullberg, Prof Jon Timmis, and Dr Mark Coles.

Closing date for application: 16th April 2012. Start date: 1st October 2012.

Departmental studentships

The Department of Computer Science at York offers PhD research studentships to UK and EC nationals. These cover all areas of computer science, and are awarded on a competitive basis. There is no deadline for applications, but final decisions are usually made in late June. The studentships cover fees, tuition and stipend for three years of study towards a PhD degree.
