We are delighted to announce that Professor Alan Winfield has agreed to be our invited speaker at YDS this year. Alan is the Hewlett-Packard Professor of Electronic Engineering at the University of the West of England. He is also the Director of the UWE Science Communication Unit and an EPSRC Senior Media Fellow. His research focuses on mobile robots, having founded the Bristol Robotics Laboratory, and he is currently focusing on swarm intelligence. A more detailed biography can be found here.
