This year YDS is able to offer four different awards:

• Best Paper Award: A prize of £100 for the best paper submitted to the conference.
• Best Presentation Award: A prize of £70 for the best presentation given at the conference.
• The Microsoft Award for Best Artificial Intelligence paper: A prize of £40 for the best paper in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
• The Microsoft Award for Best Computer Vision paper: A prize of £40 for the best paper in the field of Computer Vision.

In addition to these awards we also  have £200, from Microsoft, with which to reimburse the cost of travel to anyone visiting the conference from outside of York. We will try to divide this as fairly as possible but money will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis with priority going to authors.

The winner of the best presentation award will be voted for by the conference attendees on the following grounds:

• How clearly ideas are communicated
• Organisation of the material
• Interest and enthusiasm
