Our modern Computer Science building is on Campus East, which is home to four academic departments: Computer Science; Theatre, Film and Television; the Management School; and the Law School.
You will be taught by academics at the cutting edge of their field, so you are up to date with the latest in Computer Science. We are proud of our low student-staff ratio, giving you quality time with academic staff and easy access to your supervisor.
Our strong links with industry ensure our courses are up to date in such a dynamic and fast-moving industry. Industry also provides us with excellent placements, to help you put into practice what you have learnt in your degree.
We are home to several dedicated undergraduate and postgraduate software laboratories, as well as two hardware laboratories. We also have several research labs, including the Robot Lab, the Dark Lab and the Interactive Home Laboratory.
Need space to study or want to meet with friends? As well as software labs that are open to students 24/7, the Department of Computer Science has its own social learning space with comfortable seating and plenty of desk space with power sockets and wifi access. It also has kitchen facilities so you can warm up your own food or make yourself a drink.
In addition, you can visit one of the many restaurants, cafes and bars across the campus. Situated close to Computer Science are the Piazza Restaurant providing hot and cold food and Starbucks Coffee, and the Hub Cafe which serves a variety of snacks and drinks.
Just a short walk away in Langwith College is The Glasshouse. Open during the day and into the evening, The Glasshouse is a great place to grab a coffee while studying, turning into a lively bar in the evening for drinks and late-night food.
