Student prizes sponsored by industry

We work with a number of organisations to offer prizes to students on our degree programmes. These serve to give the organisation more visibility to our student body, and we will work with you to ensure that the prize benefits your organisation as well as the student that receives it.

Here is a taste of some of the prizes we do and have offered to our student body:

  • IBM York 2 £150 prizes; for the best stage average for 3rd year finalists.
  • Crossrail 2 £125 prizes; one for the best stage average for 3rd year finalist and one for the best finalist average.
  • The Sir William Siemens Memorial Medal and a prize of £250 is awarded by Siemens-Plessey to the best penultimate year student in the MEng Computer Systems and Software Engineering programme.
  • The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) awards a prize of £150, and two years' associate membership on graduation, to the best finalist on an IET-accredited programme: that is, MEng Computer Systems and Software Engineering or BEng/BSc Computer Science.

If you are interested in offering a student prize, please contact Edith Caulfield, Student Recruitment and Marketing Manager, in the first instance edith.caulfield@york.ac.uk
