Confirmed timeline:

  • February 15, 2013: Team registration deadline
  • March 1, 2013 (mid-day EST): Start of evaluation period for all tasks
  • March 20, 2013 (23.59 UTC-10 Hawaii): End of evaluation period for all tasks
  • March 25, 2013: Task evaluation results released (NOT POSSIBLE DUE TO PROBLEMS)


  • March 24: NEW RELEASE of definitive Evaluation dataset for English for taskABC
  • April 3: End of evaluation period for taskABC
  • April 9: Evaluation results publication.



  • April 14, 2013 (23.59 UTC-10 Hawaii): System description & analysis paper submission deadline
  • April 22, 2013: Description paper notifications / reviews
  • April 29, 2013: Camera-ready deadline
  • June 13-14: *SEM conference co-hosted with NAACL
  • June 14-15: SemEval workshop (tentative)

The paper submission URL will be made available via announcement on the mailing list ( and updated on this page when available.


Submissions should be in NAACL2013 long paper format  - see style files and the NAACL paper format description. This gives eight pages for content and up to two additional pages for references. Papers of anywhere between 4-8 pages content are welcome. Authors will not need to anonymise papers - they will not be blind reviewed.


Task data deadlines cannot be extended; paper deadlines are unlikely to be extended.
