If you are not currently using the YCCSA/SEBASE grid, and don't plan to run grid jobs before 23 December, you need read no further. (Apologies again for emailing everyone: this is to catch any users not already notified via the grid mailing list.)

CS Support will upgrade the operating system of the Grid head node during the afternoon of Thursday, 22 December. The upgrade is estimated to take 2 hours, but I suggest you assume that grid will likely be unavailable until Friday, 23 December. Based on the responses to the my email last week, this timing will cause the least disruption to Grid users.

Any jobs running on the Grid at the time will be terminated. If you are unsure of the effects of your jobs being restarted (either from the beginning or from a checkpoint) after the upgrade, I would advise you to ensure that your jobs are complete (or queued jobs on hold) by 1pm on 22 December.

If you have any questions, please email me directly (do not reply all to this email).

Thanks,

Simon
