Dear SEBASE grid users,

We'd like to upgrade the Oracle (=Sun) Grid Engine to 6.2.7 to give us access to features that will enable fairer load balancing across users. This will, however, will require the grid to be unavailable for a day.

We are tentatively planning on Monday, 28 February for the downtime. I'd be grateful if you could indicate asap to the mailing list whether or not this is convenient for you.

James McLaughlin - I'd particularly like to be sure that if we bring down the grid, your long-running jobs can be restarted with minimal impact on you.

Thanks,

Simon
