NATS

Automation is already changing transport with driverless cars on the road in the US and automated parking become increasingly common in all cars.

However, this is just the start with future automated transport being extended to shipping and aircraft. But how does that affect the safety and management of transport when there is no longer a human in control? We are working with NATS and the AAIP, to look at how automation may change the face of air traffic control and to ensure that humans are not out of the loop when it comes to assuring air traffic safety.
