Assuring responsibility for autonomous systems

Establishing who is responsible for the decisions and outcomes of an autonomous system is a crucial element of its trustworthy governance. 

Dr Ibrahim Habli, a member of the HISE group and the Assuring Autonomy International Programme, and Deputy Head of Department for Research, is Principal Investigator on a project funded by the UKRI Trustworthy Autonomous Systems programme.

The Assuring Responsibility for Trusted Autonomous Systems (AR-TAS) project will develop an interdisciplinary methodology to trace and allocate responsibility for the decisions and outcomes of autonomous systems.
