(Apologies if you receive multiple copies of this announcement) -------------------------------------------------------------- Call for Workshops In conjonction with the 8th International Conference on Object-Oriented Information Systems September 2-5, 2002, Montpellier, France Deadline: November 18, 2001 Workshop Chair: Jean-Michel Bruel, University of Pau, France For the first time in the OOIS conferences, a series of workshops will be held in conjunction with the OOIS'2002 conference to encourage interaction between researchers. * Scope of Workshops Workshop topics should be in-line with the conference topics. A workshop provides a forum for groups of researchers and practitioners to meet for one day and to exchange opinions, advance ideas, and share preliminary results on focused issues in an atmosphere that fosters interaction and problem solving. The conference will host a limited number of one-day workshops on the first day of the conference (September 2). * Submitting a proposal Workshop proposals should adopt the following structure: 1. name of the workshop 2. names and contact addresses of the organizers, identify one primary contact 3. topics and goals 4. motivation: relevance, in particular to the conference 5. previous workshops: have there been previous workshops on the same topic? When, where, how many participants? 6. participants: intended audience and prerequisites for participants, expected number, explain why this workshop should attract sufficient participants 7. selection process: in which way will submissions/participations to the workshop solicited? Will there be a review process? Who will perform the selection? 8. format: in which ways will the organisers ensure a high level of creativity and interaction during the workshop? 9. requested audio visual or computer equipment 10.finally, a preliminary Call for Workshop Papers, this should address: - overview of the topics, goals and motivation for this workshop (see above) - planned workshop format - references to previous workshops (including websites) - short biography of organizers, Please send workshop proposals to the workshop chair, to arrive no later than November 18, 2001. Early submissions allow us to provide feedback that can improve the final proposal.
