Hello pUMLers, pardon the dust I am creating in the group via an extra email. I got just out of academia after doing some research on UML behavioral formalization. I published a paper in SEKE'00. Now coming to the wonderful efforts on Alloy at MIT, I should complement the researchers for an effort to rectify the deficiencies of UML. As history has shown, there have always been efforts to beget thingsfrom scratch that replace things that have shortcomings. Given this sceenario, I strongly feel that we should not try to replace UML from the industry with Alloy, but actually go towards learning the finer plusses of Alloy and polish UML to incorporate them. Hence I would like to provide a freindly warning to the community to not digress from our common objective of formalizing UML and make it precise. UML was born after painful compromises, right? Hence Alloy into UML may go a long way in providing correct specs. My thoughts, please, John Anil Saldhana
