Hello. I would like to know if there has been any work on using UML to model security properties of computer systems (I am only aware of an article by Kaksonen and Mahonen and they consider more specifically cryptographic algorithms, rather than general security properties). Does anybody know ? Secondly I would be very much interested in any personal opinions on what subset of UML would be useful to consider as a starting point for such work (e.g. if one wanted to extend this subset with security primitives). I know that a "Core UML" is still under debate, but since I am new to UML, I would find any personal opinions very helpful anyhow, to get started. Any help would be very much appreciated Thank you very much Jan Jan Jurjens, LFCS, Div. of Informatics, University of Edinburgh, GB (at present Bell Labs Research - Lucent Technologies, Palo Alto, CA) ***** PLEASE USE jan@dcs.ed.ac.uk FOR E-MAILS ***** http://www.dcs.ed.ac.uk/~jan - tel. +1 650 565 7442
