12/6/00: Research Associate in Precise OO and Component Based Modelling Department of Computer Science University of York, UK Outstanding candidates are sought for a research position in the field of Object-Oriented (OO) and Component Based modelling for Real-time systems, within the highly rated (5*) Department of Computer Science. The project is funded by BAE SYSTEMS PLC. The RA post will examine ways in which OO and Component Based Technologies can be utilised at the analysis and design phase, to result in highly maintainable and adaptable avionics components and architectures. The successful candidate will be involved in the development of a precisely defined OO modeling language (based on the Unified Modeling Language) for real-time, component based design. They may also be involved in developing tool support the language. Experience of UML and good programming skills will be an advantage. The RA post will start on the 1st September 2000, or as soon as possible after that date. The RA post is available as a rolling contract, initially for 2 years. The salary will be within the range 16,286 - 24,479 per annum UK pounds, exact salary depending upon experience (industrial and/or academic).
