‌‌Department of Computer Science

The University of York is a stimulating place to study and provides excellent learning resources to support your academic work. 

Our new Computer Science building is part of the Heslington East campus expansion, which includes four academic departments: Computer Science; Theatre, Film and Television; the Management School; and the Law School. 

Computer Science Lab

In addition to the superb library and IT facilities offered to every student by the University, the Department of Computer Science has recently enhanced the facilities it offers for both students and staff.

We now house several dedicated undergraduate and postgraduate software laboratories, as well as two hardware laboratories. We also have several research labs, including the Robot Lab, the Dark Lab and the Interactive Home Laboratory.

Ron Cooke Hub

‌Situated right next door to Computer Science is the Ron Cooke Hub with its inspiring light-filled atrium. This building has study space available to use 24 hours a day, and a café where you can meet friends and relax.

Also located nearby are Goodricke CollegeLangwith College, and Constantine College which offer brand new accommodation blocks with superb self-catering facilities.
