What is it like to be a Computer Science student at York?

We are a leading department for Computer Science in the UK, and are consistently ranked in the top ten in UK league tables.

Our teaching helps to prepare all our graduates for the workplace at all levels. We do this through close collaboration with industry to ensure that we keep up with emerging trends in such a dynamic sector.

In September 2010, the Department moved to brand-new, purpose-built accommodation on the new University campus expansion at Heslington East. Our new building and state-of-the-art labs provide a stimulating and inspiring environment for students. Together with the University’s superb computer facilities and extensive library, we offer a truly world-class student experience.

Student life, however, is more than just studying: taking part in college life and enjoying the city of York is all part of the experience. Find out more about what it is like to live and study in York, what you can do in your spare time while you are here, and what our city is actually like.
