SwarmHack '22

Theme: Remote operation

Hosted simultaneously at the University of York, the University of Sheffield, and the University of Manchester, SwarmHack '22 (funded by UK-RAS) aims to tackle the challenge of remotely operating robot swarms.

The hackathon will take place over three days, with a programme including:

  • An expert panel session discussing key challenges
  • Teamwork to develop solutions for remotely operating robot swarms, using Pi-puck and MONA robots
  • Talks from leading swarm roboticists live-streamed across the three institutions
  • Opportunities to network with other roboticists
  • Final day presentations, with prizes for the best solutions

Applications are welcome from undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and early career researchers. Applicants from the SwarmHack host institutions are invited to apply for the event at their own university.

A limited number of travel bursaries are available for applicants who are not based at the SwarmHack host institutions. Please indicate your interest in the travel bursary when you complete the application form. 

Application deadline: 5pm on Friday 13 May 2022 

Applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered. We anticipate that successful applicants will be notified on Friday 20 May 2022.
