Call for Papers

Original papers are solicited in all areas of unconventional computation. Papers dealing with theory as well as with experiments and applications are welcome. Typical, but not exclusive, topics are: natural computing including quantum, cellular, molecular, neural and evolutionary paradigms; chaos and dynamical systems based computing; and various proposals for computations that go beyond the Turing model.

Submissions: Authors are invited to submit papers (at most 12 pages) electronically to the conference secretary M.J. Dinneen (at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ). All submissions are expected to be in PDF format. Joint submissions to other conferences are not permitted. Each accepted paper must be presented at the conference. The proceedings will be published by Springer LNCS series.

Best Paper Award: The author of the best paper submitted will be awarded one year's free subscription to the International Journal of Unconventional Computing.

Call for Workshops

Proposals for workshops associated with UC’06 are solicited in all areas of unconventional computation.

Submissions: Workshop organisers are invited to submits proposals, comprising a title, organisers' contact details, Programme Committee, half-page abstract of content and format (papers, panels, discussions, etc), and proposed duration (half day or whole day) electronically to the local organiser Susan Stepney at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. We recommend that all workshop papers are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Successful workshop organisers will produce their own website, call for papers, organise their own paper reviews, and make decisions about which papers are accepted.

Proposals for tutorials and demos associated with UC’06 are solicited in all areas of unconventional computation.
