Print

Organised by the University of York and CDMTCS, under the auspices of EATCS

4th-8th September 2006, York, UK

UC'06 is the Fifth Conference in the Series Unconventional Computation.

Original papers are solicited in all areas of unconventional computation. Papers dealing with theory as well as with experiments and applications are welcome. Best presentation prize

The author of the best paper presented at UC'06 will be presented with a year's free subscription to the International Journal of Unconventional Computation

*** Congratulations to Russ Abbott, winner of the delegate vote for the best presented paper.

Keynote speakers, and authors of selected papers, have been invited to submit revised and extended versions of their papers to a special edition of Natural Computing

Revised and extended versions of selected papers will be published in a special edition of the International Journal of Unconventional Computation

Student Travel Bursaries

Microsoft Research Cambridge kindly supplied 10 student travel bursaries of £300 each.

Applications were from registered PhD students at the time of the conference, but they need not have been delivering a paper.  Bursary awards were made to the registered students at the conference.

Conference History

The first venue of the Unconventional Computation Conference (formerly called Unconventional Models of Computation) was Auckland, New Zealand in 1998; subsequent sites of the conference were Brussels, Belgium in 2000, Kobe, Japan in 2002, and Sevilla, Spain in 2005.
