WebAIR

(if no) Do you provide a link to a glossary or a list of terms (including pronunciations)? (TXT29)

Why is this important?

Definitions should be provided for any acronyms or abbreviations in the content of the webpage. This is useful for everyone but particularly for people with specific learning difficulties or people who are partially sighted and use screen magnifiers. This is because the magnification may reduce any contextual cues from the surrounding text.

How to fix the problem

The definition of any acronyms or abbreviations can be provided in the text content or in a separate glossary or list of terms. The element can also be used to define abbreviations and acronyms. If the definition is on a separate webpage, then at least the first instance of the acronym or abbreviation should link to this definition.

Example

//Using the to provide a definition

NATO is an alliance of countries from North America and Europe.
