(if no) Do you provide an audio alternative (e.g. a second audio track) which describes the video contents? (AAV16)

Why Is This Important?

People who are partially-sighted may not be able to see videos very well and people who are blind may not be able to see them at all. In such circumstances it is helpful to provide an audio alternative that describes the information in the video. The audio alternative should describe all sounds, setting and setting changes, actions and expressions of any actors as well as any on-screen text that are important to understanding the content.

The audio alternative should be easy for the user to find. A link to the audio alternative should be located immediately before or after the video content.

How To Fix The Problem

Create an audio track that provides a detailed description of what is happening in the video. The audio should in be a widely-used audio file format, such as MP3 or WAV.

Provide a clearly labelled link to the audio alternative immediately before or after the video content.

Example

//A link to an audio alternative is provided immediately after the video.
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="600" height="400">
<param name="movie" value="movies/.swf" />
A video of the first manned lunar landings in 1969.<p>
</object>
<p>
<a href="description.mp3" />Audio alternative to the video.</a>
<p>
