(if no) Are they images of text? (IMG08)

Why is this important?

Sometimes images may be used to display text. This will often be to achieve a particular visual effect, such as an ornate heading or a quote. It may even be to display something that is text-based, such as a picture of a font or a picture of a street sign. It is particularly important in such cases to ensure that the content of the image, i.e. the text itself, can be read by everyone. This may mean providing a text alternative or ensuring that there is sufficient contrast between the text and its background.

How to fix the problem

Determine whether an image contains any text. This does not just have to be a regular image. It could also be a logo coontaining text or styled headings and navigation items. It is unlikely that that an image that contains text could be classed as decorative.

To add alternative text to an image containg text, use the "alt" attribute (commonly, but incorrectly, called an "alt tag") of the <img> element.
