PhD in Computer Vision, 2017
University of Surrey, UK
MSc in Computer Science, 2012
University of Basel, Switzerland
I am Lecturer in the CVPR group since 2019. My research is focused on computer vision, in particular, I am interested in the question of how to robustly obtain a metrically accurate, pose-invariant 3D representation of a face from 2D images and videos. I am interested in face tracking, 3D face modelling, analysis and synthesis, metrically accurate 3D face shape reconstruction, inverse rendering, and combining deep learning with 3D face models.
I’m the Founder of 4dface Ltd, a small start-up specialising in 3D face models and realistic 3D face avatars for professional applications. I am also a Visiting Academic Researcher at the Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing of the University of Surrey, UK, in the group of Prof. Josef Kittler.
Please see my website (patrikhuber.ch) for my latest research and projects, and my Google Scholar profile for my publications.
If you are interested in studying for a PhD under my supervision, I welcome applications from good students interested in computer vision or graphics or the application of machine learning in my areas of research. I would also welcome visiting PhD students, postdocs or academics working in those areas.
