I’m a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Computer Science at the University of York, UK. I’m interested in all areas of Computer Vision and Machine Learning, but I specialise in 3D imaging and 3D shape analysis, particularly medical, biometric and creative applications that employ statistical 3D shape modelling. Other recent work has employed deep learning to segment medical images and perform 3D face recognition. I’m co-editor of a Springer graduate text on 3D Imaging, Analysis and Applications (2012), currently working towards the release of the second edition in 2020, and was an Associate Editor of Pattern Recognition Letters for 4 years. I have been awarded a Royal Academy of Engineering Senior Research Fellowship (2013-14) and two recent research faculty awards from Google (2017-18 and 2018-2019). My research projects and publications are linked from my homepage. If you are interested in doing a PhD in Computer Vision and Machine Learning with me, please see my web page for PhD applicants at phd page, and then contact me by email.
