Nick Pears

Senior Lecturer

 

Nick Pears researches Computer Vision and Robotics in the Advanced Computer Architectures Group, in the Computer Science Department at the University of York, UK.

His main research interest is in using `multi-cue' Computer Vision to automate `mobile robot visual navigation' and `human computer interaction' tasks.

His current research includes projects in 

  • 3D face recognition and other vision based biometrics.
  • Computer vision for robotic applications (eg: ground/obstacle segmentation). 
  • Real-time embedded computer vision (eg: ubiquitous vision applications). 
  • Visually driven-human computer interaction.
