Gridline: The Allocation of Grid Computing Resource

[ Home | People | Publications ]

The aim of this project is to use constriant programming techniques to develop systems that can automatically allocate grid computing resources. The project has been supported by a gift from Microsoft Research, Cambridge.

Here are some papers on the project:

  • The Temporal Knapsack Problem and Its Solution. To appear, Proc.of the International Conference on Integration of AI and OR Techniques in Constraint Programming for Combinatorial Optimization Problems, LNCS 3524, pages 34-48, May 2005.

  • Efficient Algorithms for Selecting Advanced Reservations. (December 2004)

  • An Overview of the Gridline Project. (February 2004)
  • Here are slides from some of our talks:

  • Allocating a Timeshared Resource: An Application to Grid Copmputing. Invited talk delivered by Alan Frisch at JOIN'05, Minho, Portugal, February 2005.

  • Allocating a Divisible Resource: An Application to Grid Computing. This begins with an overview of the group's research.
