The 7th York Doctoral Symposium on Computer Science and Electronics (YDS 2014) will be co-hosted by the University of York's Department of Computer Science and Department of Electronics. YDS 2014 will be held in the Ron Cooke Hub building on the Heslington East campus on the 30th of October 2014.
Academic Keynote Speaker
Kevin Warwick – Professor of Cybernetics at the University of Reading, is the academic keynote speaker for YDS 2014.
The event is a great opportunity for research students from different fields to discuss their research, receiving valuable feedback and ideas.
Research Student Presentations
The symposium is an opportunity for research students to present early ideas and work-in-progress to their peers, and receive valuable feedback.
The poster session provides authors with an opportunity to design and create posters that describe early stage work, and to discuss their research in a more informal setting.
Department of Computer Science
YDS 2014 will be co-hosted by the Department of Computer Science at the University of York on the Heslington East campus.
Department of Electronics
YDS 2014 will be co-hosted by the Department of Electronics at the University of York on the Heslington West campus.
The goal of YDS is to bring together doctoral students from around the UK and Europe to share and exchange their research and ideas with others. The hope is that by bringing students together from a wide range of areas, we can promote interdisciplinary research, as well as allow doctoral students to gain experience presenting their work to colleagues.
