Undergraduate Study

"In 2006, 96% of our graduates gained professional, managerial and technical employment compared with an average of 75% across all UK higher education Computer Science programmes"

Computer Systems and Software Engineering/Computer Science

Study software and hardware and how they are integrated into the design of systems. Look at a wide field of their application to see what systems are needed, and then go into how they can best be provided. Understand how systems actually work, and how they may work in the future.

Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence

Investigate how human reasoning and behaviour can be imitated, and even surpassed, by computer systems: in language understanding, vision and games.

Computer Science with Business Enterprise Systems

Learn about very large software systems used by businesses & organisations, and how they can be specified, constructed and assessed.

Computer Science with Embedded Systems

Learn how software and hardware can be embedded within mobile phones, MP3 players, cars and medical equipment.

Combined Computer Science and Mathematics

Study both subjects in parallel and for your final project choose either or combine them both.

All our undergraduate programmes are taught as broad subjects combining theory and practice, science and engineering, hardware and software as well as professional competence and intellectual adventure. Both our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes involve research-led teaching, by staff that are at the forefront of the discipline, providing close interaction between students and lecturers. For undergraduates this includes weekly tutorials in the first year, the option of a year spent in industry, and stimulating final-year projects.
