Recommended Books
- Christian W. Dawson,
``The Essence of Computing Projects:
a Student's Guide'', Prentice Hall (2000)
Contains much useful advice, of special relevance to students of Computer Science and
subsidiary subjects (e.g. I.T. and I.P.). Highly recommended.
- Robert Barrass,
``Scientists Must Write'',
E & Fn Spon (sic) (1982)
By far the best among the many books which address the subject of good technical writing.
Well worth buying and reading from cover to cover.
- H.W. Fowler, Robert Burchfield (ed.), ``The New
Fowler's Modern English Usage'', Oxford (1998)
A classic. Still in print since its first publication in 1926.
- Horace Hart,
``Rules for compositors and readers
at the University Press, Oxford'', (39th ed.), Oxford (1983)
Another classic. Still in print since its first publication in 1904.
