Department Overseas Research Students awards (DORS)

DORS can be used to fund overseas students partially: typically, to cover the the difference between home/EU and international fees.

We are currently awaiting funding for 2012 entry - please check back for details as this page will be updated when funding is available.

Requirements for application

  • applicants must possess outstanding academic ability and research potential;
  • be able to meet the balance of the tuition fees and living expenses for the duration of the three-year PhD programme;
  • start the PhD in October;
  • submit your application for PhD study as early as possible and preferably before end of June 2012.
  • there is not a specific application form for this award - any applicant for a PhD in computer science, who has stated they need funding, will be automatically considered for the DORS.

Decisions

All candidates will be informed by e-mail as soon as a decision has been made on their application for funding.

As well as the departmental funding, there are also other funding options available through the University.
