The CVPR group welcomes applications for postgraduate study. For more details on how to apply, see our graduate study webpage. The Department of Computer Science at York has a small number of funded research studentships which are available to UK, EU and overseas students. These cover all areas of computer science and are awarded on a competitive basis. There is no deadline for applications, but final decisions are usually made in late June.

If you are interested in persuing research in the CVPR group and wish to discuss potential research topics further, then please contact one of the academics in the group:
Edwin Hancock
Richard Wilson
Adrian Bors
William Smith

To gain some idea of the scope of potential research topics, see our research pages. However, even if your interests are not catered for, please feel free to make contact and discuss the possibilities for research at York.

Currently, the group consists of some 19 postdoctoral and postgraduate researchers. The group is based in one of the leading UK computer science departments as evidenced by its 5* research rating, its excellent assessment in teaching quality and the recent award of a Queens Anniversary Medal for higher-education.
