Visitors to Heslington East should board the number 44 Unibus at the railway station, which travels to Heslington East via University Road. The Unibus runs approximately every 10-15 minutes from Monday to Saturday and every 20 minutes on a Sunday.

The Unibus provides a free shuttle service from any bus stop on University Road to the Heslington East campus. The bus will stop at the points marked B on the map above. Ask your driver for help if you need it.
From Clifford’s Tower follow the A1306 past the Barbican centre on your right. At the 2nd set of traffic lights turn right onto Lawrence street (A1079) where you will pass a Jet and a Shell garage. Go straight over the next two sets of traffic lights, up the hill, passing the Black Bull pub. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit, and turn right at the 2nd set of traffic lights, following the signs to the Park & Ride. Cross the roundabout to enter Heslington East. You will see the Sports Village on your left. Cross the next roundabout and take a ticket at the barriers. The car parks are further along this road on the left and right hand side.
Follow the outer ring road (A64 S&E side or A1237 N&W side) to the junction for Hull/Bridlington (A1079/A166). Follow signs for the University and the Grimston Bar Park & Ride. Turn left towards the Park and Ride and go straight across the roundabout to enter the Heslington East. You will see the Sports Village on your left. Cross the next roundabout and take a ticket at the barriers. The car parks are further along this road on the left and right hand side.
A note about satnavs: Use the postcode YO19 5LA to be directed to the Grimston Bar park and ride. The campus is easily navigable from this site (marked green on the map).
Parking on Heslington East is provided at Field Lane and Kimberlow lane car parks. Access to the car park is controlled by barriers and is run on a ticketing system. Take a ticket to enter the car park area. Payment is made on exit.
Short stay parking of up to 45 minutes is free. Parking is also free from 1800 until 0800 and at weekends. Longer stays are charged £1 for every hour.
The pay & display machines accept notes, cash and credit/debit cards.
