CAMELEON

CAMELEON (Configurable Array for Machine Emulation, Logic Exploration, and Optimal Networks) is a project to develop remotely accessible FPGA platforms for large scale digital circuit experimentation. Currently, CAMELEON-I is under development, and will eventually form part of a larger platform, CAMELEON-II

This early-stage pilot aims to develop a working infrastructure, and assemble a number of  potential users with varied workloads. The project is led by Dr Chris Crispin-Bailey.

In particular, current areas of interest include:-

  • Multicore processor arrays (more)

  • Neural Data Processing hardware (more)

  • Image processing (more)

It is expected systems and resources developed under the CARMEN project, and successive work to be undertaken withHEFCE funded 'YouShare' project will provide a route to CAMELEON system access for users.

Current development work is focussing upon the design and build of a new REPTILE FPGA card, 18 of which will ultimately be used to construct the CAMELEON-I Test Node.
